Me with a portrait I did of my dog Mochi
My name is Erin Kean, I am an experienced Industrial Designer with 6 years of working experience in a variety of consumer products, both physical and digital. I am a diligent worker, excellent collaborator, intuitive leader and an out of the box thinker. Professionally, I have designed bags, shoes, jewellery, small accessories, toys and packaging. I have also worked on conceptual projects both in and out of school, such as app design, human centered design research, and user experience design (both physical and digital). I have a degree in Industrial Design from The University of Cincinnati School of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning. During the 5 years I attended, the Industrial Design program was ranked #1 in the country.
I also attended a dual degree joint program from Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business and the Maryland Institute College of Art called the Masters of Art and MBA in Design Leadership. The program utilizes the design knowledge of MICA with the business and leadership expertise of the Carey Business School. While at the program I learned advanced user research skills, a variety of design theories, marketing, and managerial skills.
Unfortunately, I was forced to leave the program after a year due to a Long Covid-19. Because of this diagnosis, I was unable to work for 2 years. However, I spent those years dutifully focusing on my recovery through a variety of therapies. Thankfully, I have now recovered, and am able to return to remote working. During my recovery period, I kept myself creatively active by doing trend analyses of the fashion landscape that I would present and discuss with former co-workers. I also rediscovered my love of painting, starting a successful pet painting business.
I am ready and excited to jump back into the work force head first. Thank you for taking the time to review me and my work, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via text or email with questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
